Our Values and Vision for the Student-Athlete

Rosemère High School Soccer program is now up to 200 student athletes.

Rosemère High School Soccer Concentration program has kicked off in positive fashion this year. The new soccer program now caters for over 200 student athletes which includes both boys and girls ranging from A to AAA level. We have student athletes that are playing for the region of Quebec and are attracting interest from European clubs and North American Universities.

The soccer program aims are holistic. The criteria for entry for student athletes is to maintain and improve standards in academics, citizenship and athletics (soccer). Each student athlete has Soccer 4 times on a 9 day schedule (Cycle 2) and 4 times on a 9 day schedule (Cyle 1). Each lesson is 75 minutes.

We have soccer teams at all levels for both indoor and outdoor leagues. We have other soccer coaches in Amanda Hermeline, Jennifer Thompson, Brenda Price and Steven Antonacci. The Bantam Boys won the Montreal Regional championship division one AAA championship last year.

We feel we have a well rounded, balanced and experienced team of staff. For the Soccer Concentration Program there is ourselves Coach Andy Walker and Coach Ryan Boutara who are qualified Physical Education Teachers and are AAA qualified to coach Soccer.

We have Shaun Diner the ex Montreal Alouettes wide receiver. Shaun has worked with the student athletes in delivering motivation talks on topics on leadership, character and teamwork. He is like a Life Coach and mentor to all student athletes.

We have Xavier Roy our Strength and Conditioning Coach who is currently finishing his PHD in his recognized field and has returned from his visit from Europe. Xavier gave a presentation in Paris in his field surrounded by other Health and Fitness gurus from all around the world. He concluded his trip at the Monkseaton Soccer Academy and premiership club Newcastle United.

We also welcome our new Mental Skills Coach Chantal Vaillancourt who is a 5th Dan black belt Karate Instructor. She works on the body language and mental resilience, with all our student athletes. The aim is to take them out of their comfort zone and to be better than their excuses.

To give ourselves a global and dynamic perspective in soccer we have the expertise of our overseas and highly rated International coach Lee Picton. Lee works as Director for the Monkseaton Soccer academy in the UK and for 5 years was also the Academy Director at the England Premier League Newcastle United. Lee Picton came to work with our student athletes and delivered a spectacular showcase with Xavier Roy in front of 300 people.
